Our Environmental Position
Esselte is proud to be recognized as a corporate leader in the movement to protect and preserve our environment.
Did You Know?
Printing just one Sunday edition of the New York Times consumes 60,000 trees.Nationwide, over 4 million tons of office waste paper are disposed of annually, enough to build a 12 foot high wall from Los Angles to New York.
The average office worker throws away nearly 180 pounds of high grade recyclable paper every year.
To produce one ton of virgin (non-recycled) paper, it takes 3,700 pounds of wood.
Quality Products Simply Last Longer:
Even better than recycling is not to throw it away in the first place! We design our products with the highest specifications to ensure that they last longer.Already:
Most of our office products contain paper and cardboard. Almost all of these contain a minimum of 10% post-consumer recycled content and many are made from 100% recycled material making them highly eco-friendly. This recycled material alone saves around 1 million trees per year!Continuous Improvement:
Our Lean Program aims to reduce waste of all kinds from all areas of our business and less waste for our company also means less burden on the environment. For example: A more energy-conscious running of our plastic moulding machinery in our St. Niklaas factory saves approx. 350 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
For example: A more efficient use of warehouse space saves heating and lighting which amounts to approx 40 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
Join us in the effort to decrease office paper waste and preserve the earths precious natural resources.
